Softer Side of the Line!!

Divas it is 2011. Black liner around your lips is soooooo 80s. Please, please, please cut it out!!! I was out with friends and a diva walked past and she had a black line around her lips so thick that I honestly couldn’t tell if it was liner or a mustache initially. I stopped dancing and turned in a death stare as she walked past. Inside I was screaming bloody murder for this violation. This line was in bold italicized font around her lips!! If I hadn’t seen it with my own eyes I wouldn’t have believed it. I would have definitely stood firmly in my belief that whoever was telling me this was telling an untruth on that diva. This is the kind of buffockery that gets you an extended vacation in one of those lovely suites with the decorative padded walls at the asylum. Please don’t do this EVER!!! Come on over to the “Softer Side of the line”.

Lining your lips is a way to give them definition. Divas with more full lips don’t necessarily need liner and if you do wear it make it a color that is very similar to your lipstick or gloss. If your shade of liner is a little darker than your lipstick color, blend it slightly to soften the look. The softness is complimentary as opposed to a hard core line that screams “MESS”.

Life: Life experiences have a way of hardening our hearts, especially the not so pleasant life experiences. It is our own personal duty to ourselves to determine how we let these experiences affect us long term. I’ve been through some rather challenging situations in life and I’d be lying if I said they didn’t affect the diva that I am today. However what I can say is that I’ve taken the good learning experiences from those situations and allowed them to enhance the diva that I’ve become which is only a portion of who I’m aspiring to be. I was talking with a friend yesterday and I made reference to the fact that it is ultimately healthier for us to take the portions of relationships be it platonic or romantic that we can digest and leave the things that makes us sad, bitter, or break our spirits as refuse or garbage. In short eat the meat and leave the bones!! Let’s only recycle into the lives of others that which we’ve attained from the “Softer Side” of relationships.

Life tip inspired by an encouraging conversation with my friend George. Thank you so much!!!

Remember being a diva is more than just a title, it’s a way of life!!
